if you are looking for an in-depth guide to the sights in Dublin, this is,not the book you want. Very superficial treatment of what to do and see in Dublin. The book is padded by throwing in short blurbs on “top 10” in other regions. A waste of money.

This was a great buy!! I intend on buying this brand for my trip to other European countries. I bought it for a study abroad trip to see what fun things i could do during my free time. Not only did it hold up on a 9 day trip around Ireland, the map in the back is waterproof and held up wonderfully even in the rain! Buy it and you won’t regret it! 🇮🇪

I like lists. Lots of lists. I like to write things down and check them off. It makes me happy. So this book made me happy. Its full of the most helpful lists you can think of and great descriptions of places to go. The front page has a small fold out map and the back has a larger fold out map. I had only 8 days to see everything and feel that thanks to the top 10 lists spent my time as well as I could have.

I bought this as the main preparatory book for the 1Z0-061 exam, I must say I'm very disappointed with this book as it misses out on lots of information required for the exam. fetch, offset,listagg, negative precision in number data type etc. Its however a good resource for newbies without prior exposure to SQL. Overrall, don't purchase for certification purposes. Try Biju Thomas book.

I found this book very lacking. It does not mention any of the "fetch first" clauses or topics like "extract" and completely glosses over the sorting rules for null. All of which were on the actual exam. Rounding with negative precision and the number data type are not covered in depth enough. The practice test was a complete joke and way to easy. You come out of the practice test thinking you are on sound footing only to discover you have a long way to go. Passing is actually a 65, not 75 like the test thinks. This book is a fine start but don't use it as your only prep material for the exam. Make sure you purchase other manuals and products if you want to pass on the first try.

You buzz through the book, you ace the end-of-chapter questions and easily pass the officially sanctioned practice exam included with the officially approved study materials.Then you take the test and find that a substantial chunk of the questions are about things that were not covered in the book, and that most of the questions are not simple "pick one" questions of the practice test but "pick two/three/all correct answers of five" which eat up time like nothing, and that for some of these, there are more correct answers (proven by actually trying the hypotheticals in question) than are provided.I suspect I'm going to get a bunch of Oracle apologists on my case right about now, yammering about how of course it's hard, they can't just hand out certificates willy-nilly. Or that I'm bitter because I failed the test and am just venting.It is true that I failed the test and am venting, which means that this review should be considered more accurate, not less, for the simple reason that I actually took the test and thus am in the best position to judge whether this book was adequate preparation. The test asks several questions about the FETCH FIRST functionality which was nowhere in the book. It asks several questions about LISTAGG which was nowhere in the book. When working through this book, I tended to either get 100% of the end-of-chapter questions correctly, or miss literally one or two at most. When doing a blind run through the included practice test (that is, I finished working through the chapters and decided to take it without reviewing previous notes), I scored an 85%. All of this translated to a 55% on the actual exam. Think about that, an 85% on the OFFICIAL PRACTICE EXAM = 55% on the ACTUAL exam. At best, somebody was sleeping at the wheel when the practice materials were created, and at worst, it's nothing but an additional revenue stream for Oracle.The test should be challenging and thus require you to have a solid grasp of the material, not cause you to fail by asking you questions that were not in the official material. That's not a certification, that's a con.Edit: also, the instructions to actually setting up the sample DB are nonexistent. Not even the other book on 12c, Installation and Administration, gives you any idea. I had to search for this youtuber (RebellionRider) whose channel had a tutorial that did in 10 minutes what several chapters in the book could not.

I think the information presented is laid out in such a way to teach the material easily and efficiently. I have read several SQL books (mostly from O'Reilly) and believe this to be a good foundation and as good as if not better than the best ones they have to offer. The concepts were all known, but I still found myself learning and it gives wonderful tips on what to expect and how to adjust your thinking for the exam. I am very happy with this purchase all around and hope that books for subsequent books are put together as well as this one.

Beautifully written, Lucy Cooke tells the tales of animals and the indignities suffered at the hands of early scientists in their attempt to understand them. I read parts of the book to my 10th grade Biology students and they loved it.

After 14 years as a zoo docent I still didn't appreciate the extent of the camouflage used by sloths to protect themselves. They look, smell, and move like part of the tree they inhabit; but you've gotta read the book to really appreciate the extremes involved. Same things for the other creatures. Truly an eye-opening excursion into the lives of our wild neighbors.

One of the most interesting and informative books I have read in a long time. Extremely well written and enjoyable. I strongly suggest you buy it as I think you will like it.

Pros:well written: anyone can read this and understand it perfectlyorganized: every content area is has its heading and subheading making it easy to followbackground content knowledge: great summarization or review on each content (e.g., science-geology, cell structure, hydrology, etc)each content area has a teaching section on how to apply it to the curriculum and teachingprovides enough practice to pass the first timeCons:question are not the same as on the exam but somewhat tied to what you learnedSummarization:I found this really helpful and useful on going over the information needed for the exam. Overall, the book is updated and very well organized making it easy to follow. I was able to pass both subtest easily the first try.Tips:I would recommend to at least giving yourself 3-4 weeks of study before each subtest. I did 4-6 weeks during my semesters. Summer breaks are the most ideal time to take the NES exams. Also, the first subtest is a little more difficult so make sure you take the social studies course before taking it. The second subtest was much easier. However, this might not be your case.

This book helped me successfully pass the first part of the NES Elementary Education test, the Reading and Social Studies test. I suggest that you study the "terms" at the end of each section because some of those are were on the actual exam. The terms are in addition to the information provided in the chapter. Unfortunately, the test is so broad that I really question whether any book can cover everything that is on the test! I specifically remember a question about "watersheds" that I was not prepared for! I, also, purchased the online test prep from Pearson and I feel it was the combination of both study guides that helped me prepare. The Cirrus Test Prep is definitely easier to read and I like the practice exams.Now, I hope it will help me pass the Math and Science test on Tuesday!

I recently bought this book to help me study for my Elementary Education Subtest I and II. I read every page, made note cards of all the information I didn’t know automatically, and took all the practice tests in the back of the book. I studied 3 days a weeks for about two hours each time for a month. I also purchased the practice tests on the testing website. Together, these materials prepared me to pass my tests! I will say, there is a lot of information in the book that is not on the test. The questions were somewhat related, however. I would recommend this book, as long as you also get the practice tests off the testing website! Together, they do the trick! Good luck on your test!

Go through this book cover to cover but also buy the study guides and practice tests from the NES website itself. I did just that and scored a 239 and a 220 and the passing score is a 220 so this method definitely got the job done. I was a little anxious to take the math and science portion just because it took me a couple of tries to pass the Praxis math. Good luck! Study hard! This is not a series of tests you can just wing.

This was a huge waste of money, nothing in this book was on the NES subtests!! When I say nothing, I mean nothing!!! I'm so upset that I wasted $38 on this book and so much time studying the wrong information!! Instead of getting this book go the NES website and buy their preparation materials so you can actually learn what will be on the test!!

This is an Amazing book!!!!!!!!! Don't buybthe Pearson study guidenonline one's, those are so bunched up together and hard, at least for me,to read. This one is spaced out, and key items are bolded, and there is a glossary after each chapter I beleive. And, short simple questions at the end of the chapters.

So far this has been the most helpful for me in studying for the NES. My friends who have taken it say that a lot of the information in the book shows up on the test and that the practice tests are accurate and what you should expect when taking it officially.

Meyer's teaching is deeply rooted in the Word and it is no surprise that she would write Bible commentaries. This book is a good general devotional commentary on James. It is good for general audiences as it does not go into Greek. Meyer at times comments on one verse while at other times covers up to twelve verses in her writing. There is usually a personal reflection question at the end of each section with space for journaling although some sections do not have it.There are some areas of her teaching I particularly like. One is her teaching on contentment (on James 4:1-3). “I have discovered that the secret of being content is to ask God for what I want and to rest in the knowledge that if it is right, He will bring it to pass at the right time.” That really precludes the greed and selfishness James wrote about.Another area of her strong teaching is on the tongue and our words. This is an important area for Meyer and she really emphasizes the effect our words can have on others. We are to use our words to prove our faith and trust in God. She also has a good section on what it means to keep God first in our lives. A good way to do that is to have a continual conversation with Him, she says.This commentary would be good for new Christians or ones not very familiar with the Bible. Meyer writes about the truth of James in a very understandable way. She does not explore puzzling or complex issues, such as how turning a sinner from his way will save his soul from death (James 5:19-20). Readers will gain encouragement and inspiration from the book of James as Meyer explains the practical teaching contained in it.I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. James, A Biblical Commentary by Joyce Meyer is one of the nicest Biblical commentaries that I have used as a layperson.This commentary on James is especially user friendly. In the introduction, Meyer tells about James--when it was written and some of the history behind this book and the man who wrote it. Joyce then goes on to break the book of James down into chapters and expound on each one. She also includes space to ask yourself questions and to reflect on what you have read.Meyer's commentary on James is both beautiful on the outside and practical on the inside. The Biblical book of James is one of my favorites. I like her key reminder that we must have faith in God first and then we will do the good works that glorify Him. And that is the key, God is to get the glory and we are reminded that we don't and we need to have the faith to reflect Him to others. I truly appreciate Meyer's hard work to make this book so easy to understand and practical to use for the reader. I also like that there is space in the book to make notes and to remember my thoughts as I am reflecting on the book of James and her commentary. I highly recommend Meyer's commentary to anyone wishing to study the Bible in more depth.I received this book from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review.

This book will put you in the sport for thanksgiving!! It is a funny book with lots of personality from the author. Even though Mr. Carbles is just the mean new principle he brings the book together. The skate battle was hilarious and fun. Mr. Klutz even marrys a pig, for the second time. An and his friend go on a amazing journey to get Mr. Klutz back as principal. ( they even find out that Mr. Carbles wears a toupe instead of real hair!!) If you haven't read this book I highly recommend it. If you have read this book I suggest you read it again!!!

We started with Mrs Yonkers is Bonkers because we have a cat named Bonkers. Imagine our surprise at the mischevios boy being Arlo (our dogs name). We love ALL the books but this one we re-read the Frank chapter at least once a week and can almost quote the whole book. Its amazing that we get sleep after reading these at night. Too funny.

It’s really funny and it makes me want to still read my weirder school books but I don’t want to read but it’s to good.

These are great books for reluctant readers. My daughter does not love to read but she does LOVE reading this series. They are funny, goofy stories that keep her interest.

Well I like that Mr. Cables isn't a real teacher, he's just despicable.I didn't like when he fires Mr. Klutz and putting the students in his power.In conclusion Mr. Cables isn't a good man, he's a bad man.

My granddaughter Jaden opened this book and began reading immediately. She loves these books.What is so cool they have these strange catchy titles but have a wealth of GOOD information for children. A delightful training tool!
