The women of the early rodeos competed just as hard and in the same events as the men. Why in 1914, Bertha Blancett was only a few points away from winning the All-Around Championship and organizers decided it would be in the best interest of all to separate men's and women's events.For a look into the West the way it was, from a first hand point of view, makes this book a great read for all interested in the history of the west and of rodeo.
Great book. I enjoyed the history of the rodeo in the Oregon. Mr. Furlong the author lived it and covered every part of the experience.
